Disney's BOLT at El Capitan Theatre = Fully Awesome!

We got to go somewhere very special this past week!
We went to see the new Disney movie:
"BOLT" at Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre!
I know a very brave thing to do with a 14 month old, right?
Well it started off with a pre-show. But not just any ol' show, Disney's Holiday Spectacular to be exact! Starring Mickey, Minnie, the Princesses, Woody, Buzzlight Year and a very Goofy Santa Claus! It was very festive! It really got me in the holiday mood!
And there was one really big surprise: SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
It ended with a white winter wonderland Disney Style! I felt like I was on Main Street! Kaia was spellbound! Her first holiday show! Yay! I wish I could've gotten a picture, but they check your cameras in at the door! Bummer...
Then as if that wasn't enough excitement.... We still had a movie to watch! Which by the way was GREAT!! I'm sure you know the story. A dog who is an actor who think he has all of these super-powers. But in reality he does not. He gets lost from him "human" and he has to find his way back minus the powers. He makes some friends along the way that help him on his long journey home.
There was also a twist.... The movie is shown in 3-D. Yep, you get the 3D Glasses at the door. Granted Kaia wouldn't keep them on, so I didn't wear them either. But either way it looked very cool! This would be a great show to take the family to over the long Thanksgiving weekend, or even during Christmas break! You have a limited time as it leaves the El Capitan Theatre on January 4, 2009. Daily Showtimes are 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 7pm & 9:55pm. Get your tickets at the El Capitan Online. You could also call 1-800-DISNEY6 for more info.
*A special thank you to Scott for helping to make it a magical day for everyone!

Best Shot Monday: Tracey Clark - One To Watch!

Here's Tracey giving a lesson in holiday photographs to a captivated audience.

Watching someone you LOVE in their element is a good feeling.
Watching someone you LOVE succeeding in their element is a great feeling.

This week my BEST SHOT MONDAY isn't really about the actual picture that I took.
But it is about what's in the picture & what it means to me that makes it MY BEST.

You know those articles in the popular magazines, that have the section "Artist On The Verge"
or "One To Watch" or "Rising Starlet."
Well today I am writing one of those posts about my sister, TRACEY CLARK.
She is a rising star, on the verge, whom you should be watching.
She is a photographer, published author, mom blogger, and she is about to hit the big time.
We always knew she would. She's too talented, creative and driven not to.
She's got "IT". Whatever that "IT" factor is. She's definitely got "IT".

She's going to be on OPRAH!
And everyone knows that once you're on OPRAH, you have truly "MADE IT"! LOL...
I am very proud of her, nervous for her, ecstatic for her, etc. for her....
When something BIG happens to one sister, it happens to all the sisters!
She had a hand in helping to raise me....
And now, after years of being on the grind, she is about to have a well deserved, amazing life moment!

Growing up, I always thought she was the coolest girl I knew.
Now a million other people in the world will think so too!

Girls Night Out!!

Oh yes it's LADIES NIGHT
And the feeling's right
Oh yes it's LADIES NIGHT
Oh what a night.
-Kool and the Gang

Here's my mom, Jen, Tracey & Becky.

I finally got a LONG overdue GIRLS NIGHT OUT!
And when I say long overdue, I mean my child is 14 months old & this is the first time I have really gone "OUT" out since she was born.

All thanks to my sister, Tracey with the help of some very incredible women.
The special event was put on by HP & SNAPFISH.

We had snacks, drinks & chocolate.
We mixed, mingled & networked.
We laughed, we cried, we learned.

There was a holiday photography session, by TRACEY.
There was story telling , by JEN.
There was a live musical performance, by DANA.
There was even Arts & Crafts!

It was an evening meant to stir up our creativity, and to inspire us to give of our gifts.
It did just that, and I LOVED every minute of the evening!
I can't wait to get the Girls together again....
Oh what a night!

Best Shot Monday: Rub-A-Dub-Tub!

We didn't do much of anything the past week.
Since Kaia caught the stomach flu.
But the one thing she did do a lot of was bathing!
After every DIRTY diaper, I bathed her.
Believe me, she needed it! Not Pretty! I don't think she's had this many baths, her whole first year of life, LOL...

So for my BEST SHOT MONDAY, here is my favorite one from this week!
The cleanest girl in all the land.

And I'm happy to report, that she is doing much better!
There's nothing like the flu to thrust you right back into newborn baby mode.
A lot of Sleepless Nights, A lot of Crying, A lot of Pooping, A lot of Nursing, A lot of Baby Throw Up.

Whew, I need a nap!

Go visit TRACEY at MOTHER MAY I to play along EVERY MONDAY!

My Uncounted VOTE : (

I am sorry to report that I DID NOT get a chance to get to the polls today.
I feel guilty & very unAmerican admitting this!
But in my own defense, I have a very good reason.
My 14 month old babygirl got struck down with her very first full fledged, coming out of both ends, stomach flu!
So needless to say, despite my own longing to get into that little voting booth,
I was unable to go. Up to my ankles in YUCK!! Poor Girl!!
Atleast my husband went & represented the family!
And I was SO LOOKING FORWARD TO let my voice be heard on so many issues from the President (OBAMA) to Prop 8 (NO) & Prop 2 (YES), etc...

But I am thrilled to say that atleast on matter of the PRESIDENT,
as an international friend of mine said "AT LAST AMERICA HAS FINALLY DONE THE RIGHT THING!!!"

I like my Presidents, how I like my children.... 1/2 Black & 1/2 White!!! LOL...

Congrats Barack & Michelle.
Our country will NEVER be the same!
THANK GOD!!
