Hair Boot Camp w/ Got Milk?

Having long hair can be a challenge... I know because I've pretty much had it all of my life. I like the way it looks. And I think it's the best look on me. I know how important it is to take care of it. I know how health comes from the inside out. So what you eat & drink is just as important as any fancy shampoos & conditioners that you may use. (Hence why MILK would do an event at a Beauty Salon... It ALL ties in (Aha Moment! lol.)

So having all of this hair for all of this time, I think I've got a pretty good idea on how to do it. One thing however that I haven't mastered is the "BLOW-DRY" I have actually wanted to go to Beauty School for awhile now... Not to become a hair-dresser, but to learn how to do that "Thing" that they do.

Thankfully I have friends in cool places! My Girls at Toma Leche? (Shot Out to Angelina, Elizabeth & Tatum) were putting on an event at a local salon in West Hollywood. But these aren't your average friends, and this wasn't your average Hair Salon...

We underwent HAIR BOOT CAMP at POINT DE VUE Salon & I actually survived! Sounds Scary doesn't it? It was a little intimidating, but we had a master leading the way... A-List Celebrity Stylist , Muriel. We got to hang with Muriel, her husband & a few of the stylists that work at the salon. (Shot out to Betsy & Janice) They also treated us to scalp massages & eyebrow waxing. So it was a much needed pampering session for this mama! Thank you to everyone who had a hand in the day!
I'm just so glad that my family was there to share it with me. (Shot out to Tracey, Becky & Shelley)
I have learned the "secrets"of the BlowDry, at HAIR BOOT CAMP... now I just need to go home & practice the new techniques.

Building Strong Families With Milk!

I think as a mother, one of the main goals that we all have in common is our desire to raise healthy children. So when I got called to learn more about BUILDING STRONG FAMILIES with some help from an old friend. I knew it was a priority. I've got 4 children & the amount of food & beverages we go through in my house would shock most people. Add in the fact that 2 are teenage boys & you get an idea of my pain. LOL. We drink MILK, lots & lots of MILK. It's one of those things that as a mom, is a no-brainer. I know MILK is good for my kids, & I feel good about always having it available in my home. My toddler even calls it her "Special Milk". And actually it really is special. "Milk offers more nutrition in every glass for your dollar than virtually any other beverage." That is like music to my mommy-on-a-budget ears.



The newest Celebrity to "Sport the Stash" is new mother REBECCA ROMIJN. (Who is even more stunning in person, if that's even possible.) She attended this very SPECIAL EVENT at the W HOTEL In Los Angeles to promote the new campaign GREAT GALLON GIVE. Crossing the country to give away hundreds of thousands of gallons of free milk (more than 3 million servings!) to celebrate moms and help raise awareness of the important role milk plays in building strong families. My family got 2! (I think they took one look at the size of my boys & took pity on me!)



So thank you to the Got Milk? people for taking the time out & really listening to us moms.
For treating us to a good time, where our family bonded over a healthy meal & fun winter activity.
For stocking our refridgerators.
For understanding how important it is to provide nutrition to our most precious possessions.
For also realizing how in this economy, we need things to be affordable.

It's The Happiest Season Of All

It's The Hap-Happiest Season Of All at the Hap-Happiest Place On Earth.
There's just something about the Holidays that feels magical, right?

Then there's something about DISNEYLAND that just takes the magic to a whole other level. Every family I know goes at least once a year during the holidays, because it is just so AMAZING!

We are all transformed into little children filled with the Holiday Spirit.
Where all things are possible, and all of your dreams come true... even if just for the day.

My family is lucky enough to get invited to a special Holiday Party (THANK YOU MICHELE & DONNA - You Always Make Our Season Bright!) Where Mickey & Minnie are available for the family Christmas photos. Face Painting is a must. Crafts & Games for the Kids are set up. And yummy treats are thankfully handy. (The 2 year old never put her snowman cookie down all day. LOL.)

And lucky for me, Santa brings me a DISNEYLAND ANNUAL PASS every year for Christmas! It is BTW the Ultimate Holiday Gift that continues to give all year long!

You can feel the holiday magic for yourself until January 3rd.

PS Disneyland is also a Wonderful way to ring in the New Year.
We've spent December 31st there a few times & it's Awesome!

Trick or Treating Disney Style!

Well it is time again for one of my family's favorite traditions!
MICKEY'S TRICK-OR-TREAT PARTY at Disney's CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE.

Member all of the Laughs we had LAST YEAR?



It's the one & only place where you can go as an adult & actually TRICK-OR-TREAT with your children.
Also my older kids are just at that point where they feel weird, like they are too old to go trick-or-treating on halloween, so this spot is perfect for teenagers too.
Yes, one and all are given goodie bags to go candy collecting throughout the park, where there are stations set up all around.
Some have candy, some have healthy snacks like raisins & carrots...
so parents and kids alike are happy with the variety or treats!

I will say for the record that my youngest wouldn't put on her costume, so she looks like it's just another day, instead of Halloween. I just know that when she gets older she's gonna look at these photos & wonder why she isn't dressed up!
But it was the first time that Kaia actually Trick-Or-Treated! It was sooo cute to see her going up to the people at the stations and instead of saying Trick-Or-Treat, she'd say "PLEEEASE." Awwww! Isn't that ADORABLE???

We were invited by Mickey Mouse himself, with the help of his friend Michele Himmelberg. Thanks Michele!!!
